Brandon Sutton 5k Memorial Race
23.06.24
The Brandon Sutton 5k Run/Walk is in its 2nd year after a very successful first year. The Run/walk was set up to raise money in memory of Brandon Sutton, age 18, who was tragically killed as a pedestrian in a road traffic accident in 2023.
He loved his football amongst many other things and therefore we are working with Burton Albion Community Trust to ensure that we honour his memory and raise money for a worthwhile and local cause that we know he would have been proud to have been involved in.
Why we are raising money
We wish to support Burton Albion Community Trust to develop a Young Persons Bereavement help point. This project will offer young people across East Staffordshire a safe place to gain support from peers when dealing with loss and bereavement. Working alongside St Giles, the Trust and us as a family aim to spend the next few months
developing this offer.
We also wish to use any monies raised to help support the roll of of Wellbeing programmes in schools across the area. Again, these will offer young people a place to talk and share feelings along with helping them develop the skills to deal with everyday life and the challenges this can bring. By doing this we feel we can make sure we leave a powerful and meaningful legacy in our beautiful boys memory.
