Spring Treble
11.04.24 - 25.04.24
First held over fifteen years ago, the races are run over three consecutive Thursday evenings in April with the advantage of the lighter nights of the Spring Equinox getting us off the winter roads into Staffordshire’s beautiful countryside.
Each event is based on a tough, hilly course of around four to five miles and gives runners an early indication of their current form and fitness for the forthcoming season.
Our Spring Treble series of trail races has become a firm favourite with runners of all abilities and is dedicated to the memory of our late member, David Upton, who instigated the series and was Race Director for many years.
Cannock Chase is the location for the first race of the series, starting from near the Marquis Visitor Centre and winding around the hills of the Chase.
The second race is at Kibblestone Scout Camp, three laps of the steep ascents and descents, loved and hated in equal measures for the experience which is unique to our Club.
The final event is at the very popular venue of the National Trust holdings at Barlaston Downs, with prizes for the fastest first mile, and the punishing uphill finish to the welcome sight of Oulton Cricket Club for the award presentation and an enjoyable pint (or two!)
Stone MM extend a warm welcome to all our fellow runners whether club members or unattached, a convivial atmosphere is guaranteed. We look forward to your company!
